LIFE AS A LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHER

ISABELLA’S STORY

Isabella Tabacchi is an award winning full-time landscape photographer and influencer, traveling the World to immortalize nature and leading photo tours in all over the World.

She was born in Carpi, a small city in the region of Emilia Romagna, in northern Italy and studied at the University of Bologna to become a pharmacist.

During that period of her life, she struggled a lot to find the real self because the future perspective of working as a pharmacist didn’t correspond to her real dreams.

Indeed, since childhood, Isabella felt to be an artist, loving to express her deep emotions into photography, painting and music.

THE BEGINNING IN THE DOLOMITES

Photography used to be the main hobby for Isabella since the end of the high school but things started to change in the Italian Dolomites in 2014, when, for the first time, she visited the moon-like landscapes in Catinaccio / Rosengarten (Garden of Roses) mountain group.

Isabella fell in love with the sharp and misty peaks of the Dolomites and started to dream of a life in which she lives expressing her feelings for these landscapes, immortalizing them forever.

Isabella’s dream became one: inspiring people and living with her art, even if at the beginning looked like an uthopia.

From that moment, the Dolomites became her emotional refuge. Every time she felt tired and sad about the books, the exams, the other people expectations and the University life, she “escaped” in Alpe di Siusi with the camera and the tripod. The magic of the silence, with the Sassolungo and Sassopiatto leading the scene in front of the misty hills, became her favorite mood that she wanted to translate in pictures.

Isabella’s favorite season is Summer. She especially loves to represent the energy and happiness evoked by the rocky landscapes of the Dolomites with often wild flowers in the foreground.

EMOTIONAL LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY

Isabella Tabacchi considers her landscape photography as an art that not only immortalizes moments but has also the purpose to capture her emotions and stir feelings in people observing her works. Nature, especially a landscape, is often considered a dead and impersonal topic for photography, because it’s taken for granted that we live on an amazing planet that can be considered a form of art itself. But, a place can be more alive than anything else. The colors, the contrasts, the elements of nature arouse sensations in us and especially the memories, the events, the thoughts that make a landscape an emotions catcher.

From the beginning, Isabella Tabacchi had the vision of the Dolomites as an emotional refuge from the boring and stressful everyday life, so she had to figure out a way to represent this in her photography.

That’s how her editing style became an important part of the process into her landscape photography.

The editing style has not the purpose to distort the reality but helps into the artistic expression of Isabella’s emotions in a landscape.

Often the style and the mood within a picture is totally subconscious, Isabella doesn’t know either! But everyone can find a personal interpretation. This is the wonderful thing about art.
