Arrival day and welcome dinner
Kia ora and welcome to Christchurch, the Garden City and the South Island’s largest city! On arrival into Christchurch Airport, you will be met by your Haka Tours Guide and transferred to your hotel in the city
centre. Depending on your arrival time, you might like to grab a map from reception and take yourself on a walk through the city to see how it is rebuilding after the devastating 2011 earthquakes. Don’t worry if you’re tired, the city centre is pretty small and completely flat! For a stroll to take your breath away, make sure you check out the Botanic Gardens. Trust us, the city is named after them for a reason. This evening head out for a welcome meal with your group!

The colors of the flowering and the majesty of the mountains in the water of Pukaki and Tekapo lakes and surroundings. Afternoon and night shooting.
Leave the city behind for a journey into the heart of the MacKenzie Country today. Driving on some of the most picturesque roads in New Zealand, you’re bound for Tekapo with plenty of jaw-dropping sights to snap photos of along the way. Lake Tekapo’s turquoise colour and mountain backdrop are breathtaking already, but add the tiny Church of the Good Shepherd standing right at the water’s edge into the mix, and you’ve got a photographer’s dream!
After a short break in the hotel, let’s get ready for the afternoon and sunset shooting in this magical landscape, in one of the best seasons in New Zealand.
After dinner, if the weather is good, we can take the chance to practice night photography. Lake Tekapo is in the heart of the largest Dark Sky Reserve in the world making this the best place for stargazing. In the Southern Hemisphere of our planet we can see celestrial bodies that we cant see in the Northern one. The Magellanic Clouds are just an example of the incredible things we can capture with the amazing South Island landscapes in New Zealand.

Shooting in Milford Sound.
Today you spend the whole day exploring the Milford Sound by boat. Sit back and relax as your cruise makes its way out into Milford Sound past the iconic Mitre Peak. We’ll sail the length of the 16km fiord, out
past St Annes Point Lighthouse, with informative commentary from our skipper who will highlight points of interest along the way including the mighty Lady Bowen Falls, Lion Mountain, Copper Point, Seal Rock and Stirling Falls. You’ll see towering peaks, sheer cliffs, cascading waterfalls and lush rainforest. Feel the spray of Fairy Falls and listen to the sound of nature thriving in its habitat. Be sure to keep an eye out for seals basking in the sun, pods of dolphins, or rare Fiordland Crested Penguins that can be found seasonally within the region. While onboard, enjoy our Kiwi-style buffet lunch which includes a selection of delicious hot and cold dishes and salads freshly prepared on board by our chefs using local produce. Then be always prepared to capture the best views of Milford Sound, as always under the guide of Isabella Tabacchi.
